DERMAPLANING
Dermaplaning: Exfoliate, Renew, and Reveal Your Glow
Dermaplaning is the controlled scraping of the skin using a sterile, surgical blade held at a 45 degree angle for the removal of keratinized cells on the outer stratum corneum and fine vellous hair (peach fuzz). Skin is immediately rejuvenated, smoothed and revitilised and the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and acne scars are minimised with consistent treatments.

FAQs
Who is a good candidate for dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is suitable for most skin types, particularly those looking to address dullness, rough texture, or fine facial hair. It can benefit individuals with hyperpigmentation, acne scars, or uneven skin tone. However, those with active acne, eczema, rosacea, or highly sensitive skin should consult their clinician to determine if dermaplaning is appropriate for their specific condition. Every treatment plan is personalized to ensure safety and optimal results.

Does dermaplaning hurt?
Dermaplaning is a painless and gentle procedure. Most clients describe it as a soothing or slightly ticklish sensation, much like a light brushing of the skin. The process is carefully performed by trained professionals to ensure your comfort and safety throughout.

Will my hair grow back thicker after dermaplaning?
This is a common concern, but rest assured that dermaplaning does not alter the hair follicle or structure. The hair will grow back at its natural rate and texture. Any regrowth might feel slightly different at first due to the blunt edge left after shaving, but it will not be thicker or darker.

Is there any downtime after dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a minimally invasive treatment with little to no downtime. Some clients may experience mild redness or sensitivity immediately after the session, but this usually subsides within a few hours. With proper post-treatment care, such as applying a pozt-treatment creme and SPF, you can enjoy the benefits of radiant skin without interruption to your routine.

Can dermaplaning be combined with other treatments?
Absolutely! Dermaplaning is an excellent complement to other treatments, such as facials, chemical peels, or HydraFacials, as it enhances the absorption of active ingredients. It’s also a great preparatory step for treatments targeting deeper layers of the skin, ensuring maximum effectiveness and better outcomes.

Is dermaplaning safe for sensitive skin?
Yes, dermaplaning is gentle and can be adapted for sensitive skin types. However, if you have underlying conditions like rosacea, eczema, or active breakouts, it’s essential to discuss these with your clinician. Your safety and comfort are always a priority, and the treatment can be customised or postponed to ensure your skin is in the best condition for optimal results.

What should I avoid after dermaplaning?
After dermaplaning, your skin will be more receptive but also more vulnerable. It’s crucial to:
-
Protect Your Skin: Avoid direct sun exposure and use a broad-spectrum SPF to shield your skin from UV damage.
-
Skip Harsh Products: Refrain from using retinoids, exfoliants, or strong active ingredients for at least 48 hours post-treatment.
-
Hydrate and Nourish: Use gentle, hydrating moisturizers to keep your skin calm and replenished.
-
Avoid Heat and Sweating: Steer clear
