Enlarged Pores
Appearance: Enlarged pores appear as visibly dilated openings on the surface of the skin, most commonly on the nose, forehead, and cheeks. They can give the skin a rough, uneven texture and may become more noticeable with age or certain skin conditions.
Causes: Clogged pores, sun damage, excessive sebum production, aging, genetics
Mechanism: Excessive oil production by sebaceous glands mixes with dead skin cells, leading to clogged pores. This buildup stretches the pore walls, making them appear larger. Aging and sun damage further contribute by breaking down collagen and elastin, which are essential for maintaining skin structure and tightness.
